The following is a complete list of current courses offered by OERB and the price for each. For a detailed description of each module, download the PDF.

Payment for each class is required at the time of registration.

Cancellation Policy: In order to receive a full refund on classes, students must cancel a minimum of ten (10) business days prior to the first day of class. A processing fee of $4 will apply to all cancellations. 

Class, Description and Cost
*Each student will be required to pass an online Windows Fundamentals test before beginning the PetroTech program. If you are a scholarship recipient and do not pass this exam, you will be required to take a computer class before moving on with the program. 

*Each level must be completed before moving on to the next level.
 

Level 100 Classes (all required)

Introduction to the Oil & Natural Gas Industry- $180
After taking this course, students will have a general understanding of the basic geologic and engineering concepts utilized
 in the exploration and production of oil and natural gas. They will understand the uses of crude oil and natural gas, their importance
and geographic distribution. Students will have a basic understanding of exploration, drilling, completion and reserve estimation techniques and methods currently used in the oil and natural gas industry.

Petroleum Business Applications - EXCEL Level 1-3
Francis Tuttle - $135 per level (Subject to change)
Tulsa Tech - $135 per level (Subject to change) 

This course is designed to teach students the basics of Microsoft Excel. Students will learn to
work with worksheet data; edit, copy, move and delete data; format and print worksheets; create formulas and use numeric formats.
This course is only offered in-class.

Petroleum Business Applications - ACCESS Level 1-3
Francis Tuttle - $135 per level (Subject to change)
Tulsa Tech - $135 per level (Subject to change) 

This course presents the learner with the fundamentals of Microsoft Access. Students will learn to create, work with
and edit tables, set field properties, use find and filter, print data, create relationships using simple queries, modify query
results and analyze tables.
This course is only offered in-class.
NO PREREQUISITE

Level 200 Classes (all required)

Introduction to Oil & Natural Gas Economics- $90
After taking this course, students should have a general understanding of basic engineering and economic
concepts utilized in the exploration and production of oil and natural gas. Students should understand the uses of
economics to value oil and natural gas assets, the importance of economic estimates in the exploration, drilling,
and re-completion of wells as well as reserve reporting practices currently used in the oil and natural gas industry.
PREREQUISITE: ALL LEVEL 100 CLASSES

Well & Production Data Management - $180
After taking this course, students will have a good understanding of the terminology and abbreviations commonly utilized in the oil and natural gas industry. They will also utilize common industry databases (i.e. scout ticket, production,
activity, etc.) to build and run queries, as well as generate reports, graphs and basic wellbore schematics.
PREREQUISITE: ALL LEVEL 100 CLASSES

Mud Logging - $45
After taking this course, students will have a good general understanding of the history and current
utilization of mud logs.  The course will provide an overview of the drilling operation and more
specifically the drilling mud system.  Students will be introduced to the various methods and techniques
 by which mud logging data are collected, interpreted and incorporated into the final mud log. 
 In addition they will be introduced to the most common software programs and data output formats
utilized in the industry. 
PREREQUISITE: ALL LEVEL 100 CLASSES

Electric Logging - $135
After taking this course, students will have a good understanding of the history and current
 utilization of open hole logs. The course will provide a broad overview of the various log types,
how they work and how the data from each is utilized in the oil and natural gas industry.
Additionally, students will utilize specific software utilities to generate common displays for use by oil
and natural gas professionals. 
PREREQUISITE: ALL LEVEL 100 CLASSES

Land & Lease Records - $225
After taking this course, students will have a general understanding of the landman’s role in the oil and natural gas industry,
beginning with the acquisition of an oil and natural gas lease and continuing through to the disbursement of well revenues resulting
 from the drilling of the well on the oil and natural gas lease.
PREREQUISITE: ALL LEVEL 100 CLASSES

ArcGIS in the Petroleum Industry - $270
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to operate, classify and navigate through various ArcGIS mapping projects.
Moreover, they will have been exposed to techniques used in creating, editing, analyzing and displaying shapefiles containing land,
well and geological data as they apply to the oil and natural gas industry.
PREREQUISITE: ALL LEVEL 100 CLASSES

Industry Excel Practices - $90
A six-hour instructor led course that will enable the user to implement practical applications of Excel 2010 skills with data  
familiar to the oil and natural gas industry using the Petro Tech Real World Excel workbook.

Level 300 Classes (1 Economics and 1 Mapping required)

Oil & Natural Gas Economics - PHDWin Overview- $135
Students will learn the basics of oil and natural gas economics and reserves estimation. Specifically, they will
utilize PHDWin tools to integrate production decline curve, pressure and volumetric data to generate reserves
and economic reports. Additionally, they will learn to generate data for maps in Petra or Geographix.
PREREQUISITE: ALL LEVEL 100 AND 200 CLASSES

Oil & Natural Gas Economics - POWERTOOLS - $225
Students will learn the basics of oil and natural gas economics and reserves estimation. Specifically,
they will utilize PowerTools to integrate production decline curve, pressure and volumetric data to generate
reserves and economic reports. Additionally, they will learn to generate maps incorporating labels, bubbles,
contours and time bubbles to illustrate the information collected and created.
PREREQUISITE: ALL LEVEL 100 AND 200 CLASSES

Oil & Natural Gas Economics - ARIES Introduction - $225
Students will learn the basics of oil and natural gas economics and reserves estimation. Specifically, they will utilize
ARIES tools to integrate production decline curve, pressure, and volumetric data to generate reserves and economic reports.
Additionally they will learn to generate data for maps in Petra or Geographix.
PREREQUISITE: ALL LEVEL 100 AND 200 CLASSES

Geological Mapping - Geographix Fundamentals - $270
After completion of the course, students will be able to create a project, import grid, culture, well and production data as
well as raster and digital log data. They will be familiar with the creation of basemaps, structure maps, isopach maps, production
 maps and geologic cross-sections.
PREREQUISITE: ALL LEVEL 100 AND 200 CLASSES

Geological Mapping - PETRA Essentials- $270
After completion of the course, students will be able to create a project, import grid, culture, well and production data as well
as raster and digital log data. They will be familiar with the creation of basemaps, structure maps, isopach maps, production maps
and geologic cross-sections.
PREREQUISITE: ALL LEVEL 100 AND 200 CLASSES

Level 400 Classes (required)

Résumé Writing & Interviewing - $90
After completion of this two-night course, students will have fine-tuned résumé writing and interviewing skills.
Students will work on their résumés during class.
PREREQUISITE: ALL LEVEL 100, 200 AND 300 CLASSES
