| Summer Saving Tips
Set the air conditioner to 78 degrees or higher. For every degree you raise your thermostat, you could be saving up to 3 percent on cooling costs. Keep blinds, curtains and windows closed during the day. Plant trees to shade your home. Newly planted trees will begin shading windows in their first year and will reach your roof in five to 10 years. Use ceiling fans. They provide a breeze that can make you feel at least five degrees cooler, allowing you to turn up your air conditioner.
