Summer Saving Tips

• Set the air conditioner to 78 degrees or higher. For every degree you raise your thermostat, you could be saving up to 3 percent on cooling costs.
• Keep blinds, curtains and windows closed during the day.
• Plant trees to shade your home. Newly planted trees will begin shading windows in their first year and will reach your roof in five to 10 years.
• Use ceiling fans. They provide a breeze that can make you feel at least five degrees cooler, allowing you to turn up your air conditioner.
